Overview

A Tentadora, nestled in the heart of Campo de Ourique at R. Ferreira Borges 1, is a café that effortlessly blends traditional Lisbon charm with a welcoming atmosphere. This spot is more than just a place to grab a coffee; it’s a genuine slice of local life where the soul of the neighborhood resonates through every dish and interaction.

The menu boasts an authentic Portuguese flair, highlighting classics like the Pastel de Nata Maravilhoso—a rich, flaky custard tart that embodies the city’s pastry traditions. Alongside this, the café offers an appealing range of pastries such as Bolacha Inglesa, Bolacha Francesa, and the irresistible Amêndoas Chocolate. For those seeking something savory, dishes like Peixe Carne Com Salada Russa, Bitoque de Vaca, and the iconic Tosta Mista provide hearty options that satisfy deeply.

One cannot overlook the beverages that perfectly complement the food. The Cappuccino Espresso Macchiato and Torrada Com Galão are favorites for an authentic boost, while the beer selection offers a refreshing alternative during warmer afternoons. The café’s blend of traditional and simple presentation enhances the overall dining experience, allowing guests to focus on flavour and quality.

Patrons consistently praise the value and generosity of portions, making A Tentadora not only a delightful culinary stop but an economical one. The grilled sea bass, seasoned simply with olive oil, exemplifies the kitchen’s philosophy: respect for ingredients elevated by careful preparation. This straightforward approach extends to dishes like the regional soup, which, alongside a small selection of wines and beers, makes for a satisfying midday meal.

The space itself is modest but full of character, creating an inviting setting where locals and visitors mingle. Sitting outside, watching the rhythm of Campo de Ourique’s streets, adds a layer of authenticity that few cafés can match. The service is attentive, though occasionally uneven, which speaks more to the genuine human element than a polished tourist trap.

A Tentadora appeals to those searching for a genuine Lisbon experience — people who appreciate hearty, local fare without pretense. Whether you’re stopping by for an afternoon coffee with a sweet pastry or settling in for a substantial lunch, this café embodies warmth, tradition, and the unmistakable spirit of its neighborhood.

Two fish dishes, a small bottle of wine, two beers, a coffee, a cake and a big bowl of regional soup = 25 Euros. So amazing. The quality of food we had was great and for such a low cost, we were very surprised. The grilled sea bass was well seasoned, had some olive oil and generally a simple dish made well. This was a great lunch spot and sitting outside added to the meal. There were so many desserts and pastries so if you're looking to a good lunch or a snack then pass by.

When places like this won't exist anymore a city will loose part of its identity. Do you prefer a 'latte' in a cardboard glass in a trendy furnished bar? Fine. Maybe it's not all perfect by a trendy point of view, but this place has style, quality and a soul. Loved to spent time here watching life of campo de Ourique with locals.

Less than ten metres from a stop for both the 25E and 28E, this is beautiful understated traditional venue with good food, great value and excellent service. I stopped in for the steak on bread with a beer, which were delicious. The range of dishes, pastries and beverages offer enough choice for anyone to enjoy a visit.

Good place for an afternoon coffee and pastry. Spend way less compared to the high end café around the area. All good except one of the waiters not looking friendly.
